¡Hola! Soy Cintia de Córdoba, Argentina. Soy Traductora Pública de Inglés y estudié Profesorado de Inglés en la UNC (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba). Me considero una persona motivada que se involucra en programas que me hacen crecer como persona y aportan a mi conocimiento académico. Trabajé en programas universitarios que ayudaban a las comunidades nativas en el norte de Argentina a compartir sus tradiciones, costumbres y lengua con la sociedad argentina. Participé del programa “Global Compact” de las Naciones Unidas y de “Aprendamos Juntos” un programa de lectura y enseñanza de la lengua inglesa a niños de bajos recursos en Córdoba. Participé de clases en los niveles de Middle School y Secundario en colegios de Minneapolis que me ayudaron a establecer comparaciones con el sistema educativo en latinoamerica y fui intérprete al teléfono para Capital One en mis primeros años de la Universidad. Pienso que la diversidad tiene un papel fundamental en el crecimiento de una Nación y por eso me decidí a enseñar español en ambientes que favorecen el multiculturalismo. Concordia Language Villages fue uno de esos ámbitos y hoy Gustavus Adolphus College forma parte de mi nuevo Hogar. Soy dinámica, positiva, entusiasta y preparada para continuar aprendiendo. Mi nuevo desafío es que conozcas algo más que un idioma: la realidad del país que lo habla. Y mi objetivo es lograr aprender de este lugar maravilloso que es cuna de una gran diversidad cultural. ¡Allí vamos!
Hi! This is Cintia from Córdoba, Argentina. I have a degree in English Translation and I am also an English Teaching undergraduate at the UNC (National University of Córdoba). I am very motivated and I’ve always enjoyed taking part in different programs that help me grow as a person while improving my academic knowledge. I participated in the university program that helped natives from the north of Argentina to share their traditions, customs and language with the rest of Argentinians. I was a translator for the United Nations program “Global Compact” and I also volunteered in poor communities in Córdoba where unprivileged children had little access to education. Here in Minneapolis, I had the possibility to observe classes in Middle Schools and High schools to draw comparisons with the educational system in Latin American countries and I was also an interpreter for Capital One during my college years. I believe that diversity plays a fundamental role in the prosperity of a country; and that’s the reason why, I decided to teach Spanish in contexts that favor the multiculturalism. Following that, Concordia Language Villages was my first experience and now Gustavus Adolphus College is my new Home. I’m a dynamic, positive, enthusiastic person ready to keep learning. My new challenge is that you get in contact with the culture and reality of the Spanish speaking world while I also learn from this wonderful place that embraces cultural diversity. So, here I go!
